Protein. It’s the popular word of choice in the nutrition and fitness community and there’s a good reason why. Protein is something that is essential for all humans on this planet and without it, we wouldn’t be alive!
It is an essential macronutrient, which is responsible for multiple functions in the body, including building our cells, tissues and organs. Protein is also involved in making our hormones, enzymes and even antibodies, as well as helping you to feel fuller for longer – and this recipe packs heaps of it! It makes for the perfect post workout breakfast!
Ingredients
1 cup gluten-free oats
2 eggs
1 banana
2 tbsp protein powder (I like to use hemp powder)
4 tbsp almond milk
Method
Add the oats to the blender and blend until they’re the texture of flour.
Add the remaining ingredients to the blender and blend.
Melt and heat up the coconut oil in a frying pan. Once hot, add a ladle of the pancake mixture to the pan and fry for approximately 3 minutes on a medium to high heat. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes until its cooked through and the sides are golden.
Remove from the frying pan and onto a plate. Repeat step 3 to make the remaining two pancakes.
