Rich in potassium and manganese and providing a good source of fibre, this ‘nice cream’ is healthier than your average ice cream. Banana is a source of prebiotic inulin, which helps to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in the bowel.
Made purely from plants, this recipe works as an excellent nutritious alternative for vegans and those who adhere to a dairy-free diet.
If you are concerned about the bitter taste of cacao powder, you can use riper bananas to help balance the flavour naturally.
For the perfect pairing I love to combine banana ice cream with coconut.
What toppings would you choose?

Peel the bananas and put them in the blender with the rest of the main ingredients. Once blended together place in a bowl and cover with cling film and place in the freezer for a few hours until frozen.
