We named our Reethi candle after one of our favourite hotel islands, ‘The Reethi Rah’, part of the One & Only Resort Collection. Reethi Rah translates to ‘beautiful island’ in Dhivehi terms. We have been lucky enough to travel to The Maldives on a few occasions and stay at the Reethi Rah twice; which can only be described as paradise on earth.
We loved nothing more than cycling around the jungle-like island on our bikes in the day, followed by sunset walks on the beach, admiring the pink skies and turquoise water shimmering in the golden light.
Something that marked our memory of Reethi Rah was the smell of the salty sea bouncing off the water villas, to the creaminess of the sand and the sweet smell of the flowers growing on the land. We carefully captured the dreamy scents and the way they made us feel relaxed in this calming setting.
Now we have our very own slice of this idyllic beautiful island paradise whenever we want it. Reethi is something we like to light each night, with the first flicker of the flame instantly transporting us back to the Maldives.
